Nour Al-Hafez (She/Her)
Registered Psychotherapist

Background

I’m Nour Al-Hafez, a Registered Psychotherapist and the owner and director of Altitude Psychotherapy in Toronto, Ontario. With over 10 years in the mental health field and 5 years of specialized experience supporting women healing from infidelity, betrayal trauma, and gender-based violence, I am dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate space for recovery and growth.

Before founding my practice, I worked as a crisis worker and psychotherapist at Immigrant Women Services Ottawa, supporting women fleeing abuse and betrayal. In this role, I collaborated with shelters, police, child protection services (CAS), courts, and multidisciplinary teams, helping women navigate safety planning, trauma, and systemic barriers. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the challenges women face when coping with broken trust, relationship trauma, and cycles of abuse.

I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carleton University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Behavioral Sciences from Algonquin College, and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective trauma therapy that helps women release the emotional pain of betrayal and restore safety and resilience.

Beyond individual therapy, I have led workshops on the cycle of abuse and infidelity, supporting women in breaking free from unhealthy patterns and building stronger, healthier relationships. My work extends across Toronto and Ontario, reaching women seeking trauma-informed care and specialized betrayal trauma therapy.

My Approach

I primarily draw from EMDR to support trauma recovery and healing from infidelity and betrayal. Alongside EMDR I integrate other evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and attachment-based approaches to tailor therapy to each woman’s unique needs.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I am deeply committed to cultural sensitivity and creating an environment where women feel seen, understood, and supported. My goal is to help you rebuild trust, ease anxiety, and strengthen resilience, so you can move forward with confidence and connection.
